Margaret. <\/strong>By my troth, ‘s not so good; and I warrant your 
cousin will say so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hero.\u00a0<\/strong>My cousin’s a fool, and thou art another: I’ll wear
none but this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret.\u00a0<\/strong>I like the new tire within excellently, if the hair\u00a0
were a thought browner; and your gown’s a most rare\u00a0
fashion, i’ faith. I saw the Duchess of Milan’s\u00a0
gown that they praise so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret.\u00a0<\/strong>By my troth, ‘s but a night-gown in respect of\u00a0
yours: cloth o’ gold, and cuts, and laced with\u00a0
silver, set with pearls, down sleeves, side sleeves,\u00a0
and skirts, round underborne with a bluish tinsel:
but for a fine, quaint, graceful and excellent\u00a0
fashion, yours is worth ten on ‘t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hero. <\/strong>God give me joy to wear it! for my heart is 
exceeding heavy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret.\u00a0<\/strong>‘Twill be heavier soon by the weight of a man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hero. <\/strong>Fie upon thee! art not ashamed?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret.\u00a0<\/strong>Of what, lady? of speaking honourably? Is not\u00a0
marriage honourable in a beggar? Is not your lord\u00a0
honourable without marriage? I think you would have\u00a0
me say, ‘saving your reverence, a husband:’ and bad
thinking do not wrest true speaking, I’ll offend\u00a0
nobody: is there any harm in ‘the heavier for a\u00a0
husband’? None, I think, and it be the right husband\u00a0
and the right wife; otherwise ’tis light, and not\u00a0
heavy: ask my Lady Beatrice else; here she comes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

burden: do you sing it, and I’ll dance it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beatrice.\u00a0<\/strong>Ye light o’ love, with your heels! then, if your\u00a0
husband have stables enough, you’ll see he shall\u00a0
lack no barns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret. <\/strong>O illegitimate construction! I scorn that with my heels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beatrice. <\/strong>‘Tis almost five o’clock, cousin; tis time you were 
ready. By my troth, I am exceeding ill: heigh-ho!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret. <\/strong>For a hawk, a horse, or a husband?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beatrice.\u00a0<\/strong>For the letter that begins them all, H.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret. <\/strong>Well, and you be not turned Turk, there’s no more 
sailing by the star.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beatrice. <\/strong>What means the fool, trow?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret. <\/strong>Nothing I; but God send every one their heart’s desire!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hero.\u00a0<\/strong>These gloves the count sent me; they are an
excellent perfume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beatrice. <\/strong>I am stuffed, cousin; I cannot smell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret. <\/strong>A maid, and stuffed! there’s goodly catching of cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beatrice.\u00a0<\/strong>O, God help me! God help me! how long have you\u00a0
professed apprehension?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret. <\/strong>Even since you left it. Doth not my wit become me rarely?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beatrice. <\/strong>It is not seen enough, you should wear it in your 
cap. By my troth, I am sick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret.\u00a0<\/strong>Get you some of this distilled Carduus Benedictus,\u00a0
and lay it to your heart: it is the only thing for a qualm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hero. <\/strong>There thou prickest her with a thistle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beatrice. <\/strong>Benedictus! why Benedictus? you have some moral in 
this Benedictus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret.\u00a0<\/strong>Moral! no, by my troth, I have no moral meaning; I\u00a0
meant, plain holy-thistle. You may think perchance
that I think you are in love: nay, by’r lady, I am\u00a0
not such a fool to think what I list, nor I list\u00a0
not to think what I can, nor indeed I cannot think,\u00a0
if I would think my heart out of thinking, that you\u00a0
are in love or that you will be in love or that you
can be in love. Yet Benedick was such another, and\u00a0
now is he become a man: he swore he would never\u00a0
marry, and yet now, in despite of his heart, he eats\u00a0
his meat without grudging: and how you may be\u00a0
converted I know not, but methinks you look with
your eyes as other women do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beatrice. <\/strong>What pace is this that thy tongue keeps?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret. <\/strong>Not a false gallop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

[Re-enter URSULA]\n\n\n\n

Ursula.\u00a0<\/strong>Madam, withdraw: the prince, the count, Signior
Benedick, Don John, and all the gallants of the\u00a0
town, are come to fetch you to church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hero. <\/strong>Help to dress me, good coz, good Meg, good Ursula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
