of measure sad?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don John. <\/strong>There is no measure in the occasion that breeds; 
therefore the sadness is without limit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conrade. <\/strong>You should hear reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don John.\u00a0<\/strong>And when I have heard it, what blessing brings it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conrade. <\/strong>If not a present remedy, at least a patient 
sufferance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don John.\u00a0<\/strong>I wonder that thou, being, as thou sayest thou art,\u00a0
born under Saturn, goest about to apply a moral\u00a0
medicine to a mortifying mischief. I cannot hide
what I am: I must be sad when I have cause and smile\u00a0
at no man’s jests, eat when I have stomach and wait\u00a0
for no man’s leisure, sleep when I am drowsy and\u00a0
tend on no man’s business, laugh when I am merry and\u00a0
claw no man in his humour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conrade.\u00a0<\/strong>Yea, but you must not make the full show of this\u00a0
till you may do it without controlment. You have of\u00a0
late stood out against your brother, and he hath\u00a0
ta’en you newly into his grace; where it is\u00a0
impossible you should take true root but by the
fair weather that you make yourself: it is needful\u00a0
that you frame the season for your own harvest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don John.\u00a0<\/strong>I had rather be a canker in a hedge than a rose in\u00a0
his grace, and it better fits my blood to be\u00a0
disdained of all than to fashion a carriage to rob
love from any: in this, though I cannot be said to\u00a0
be a flattering honest man, it must not be denied\u00a0
but I am a plain-dealing villain. I am trusted with\u00a0
a muzzle and enfranchised with a clog; therefore I\u00a0
have decreed not to sing in my cage. If I had my
mouth, I would bite; if I had my liberty, I would do\u00a0
my liking: in the meantime let me be that I am and\u00a0
seek not to alter me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conrade. <\/strong>Can you make no use of your discontent?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don John.\u00a0<\/strong>I make all use of it, for I use it only.

can give you intelligence of an intended marriage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don John. <\/strong>Will it serve for any model to build mischief on? 
What is he for a fool that betroths himself to 
unquietness?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Borachio.\u00a0<\/strong>Marry, it is your brother’s right hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don John. <\/strong>Who? the most exquisite Claudio?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Borachio. <\/strong>Even he.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don John. <\/strong>A proper squire! And who, and who? which way looks 
he?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Borachio.\u00a0<\/strong>Marry, on Hero, the daughter and heir of Leonato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don John. <\/strong>A very forward March-chick! How came you to this?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Borachio.\u00a0<\/strong>Being entertained for a perfumer, as I was smoking a\u00a0
musty room, comes me the prince and Claudio, hand\u00a0
in hand in sad conference: I whipt me behind the\u00a0
arras; and there heard it agreed upon that the <\/b><\/span>
prince should woo Hero for himself, and having\u00a0
obtained her, give her to Count Claudio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don John.\u00a0<\/strong>Come, come, let us thither: this may prove food to\u00a0
my displeasure. That young start-up hath all the\u00a0
glory of my overthrow: if I can cross him any way, I
bless myself every way. You are both sure, and will assist me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conrade. <\/strong>To the death, my lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don John.\u00a0<\/strong>Let us to the great supper: their cheer is the\u00a0
greater that I am subdued. Would the cook were of\u00a0
my mind! Shall we go prove what’s to be done?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Borachio. <\/strong>We’ll wait upon your lordship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
